Eduard Isaac Asser, an Amsterdam lawyer, was one of the first Dutchmen to experiment with the new medium of photography. Photography was a leisure activity and he initially took daguerreotype portraits and urban views. Later, however, he focused on developing paper negatives. The book reproduces his complete oeuvre.
