This book is devoted to the life and work of the Hungarian-born photographer. Formed by avant-garde circles in Berlin where she established herself as a photographer, she settled in Amsterdam in 1932. Her aesthetic, engaged and powerfully expressive images have been crowned on many occasions and have exerted an enormous influence on subsequent generations of photographers.
