In the 1950s and 1960s, the Magnum photographer Leonard Freed lived and worked in Amsterdam where he recorded ordinary, everyday life in the city and suburbs, unconsciously painting a portrait of innocence and decadence, of artists, of the royal family, and of the hard-working post-war population.
